The first Estonian watchmaker AEGAON and South-Estonian Rally team have once again agreed to have Estonian watches on the prize table. This means, that the best racers can look forward to winning all together eight AEGAON watches and the AEGAON Powerstage just like last year, but with a small exception - AEGAON has decided to surprise the winning team of the Powerstage.
The most important powerstage speed test of this years South-Estonian Rally will take place in Luhamaa and is once again named by the sponsor AEGAON Watches.
It is also the longest distance of the rally with 14,87km. The winners of this years powerstage will get a special prize from AEGAON, which is pair of brand new "Tabula Rasa" designs.
"We have blended in to the rally scene kind of naturally and with a good vibe. The people in AEGAON are great fans of what our racers are doing on the track and to the best of my knowledge, the feeling is mutual. So if our co-operation with the rally team should turn in to a tradition, then I would be very glad about it", commented Janno Roodi, the founder and designer of AEGAON Watches.
The Estonian Motor Sports Association's spokesman Rauno Paltser said, that they are honoured to be collaborating with the Estonian watchmakers again for a second year in a row, since AEGAON has become a well known brand both in Estonia and abroad.
"Punctual time keeping is extremely important when it comes to rally, that's why many racers prefer to wear AEGAON watches. Among other AEGAON fans there is also Ott Tänak, who has won the MM-Rally four times, being also one of the hottest name among all rally fans at this moment. The other man is his former partner Raigo Mõlder, who won the South-Estonian Rally last year", said Paltser.
Raigo Mõlder himself said, that he is already an owner of three AEGAON watches and will be after a fourth at this years rally.
"Every racer likes to get a little something in exchange for their effort on the track, but AEGAON watch is a real eye-cather. I've been asked many times about the manufacturer. I remember when I was racing with Tänak in WRC, then the "Peacemaker65" design was a real wow factor", commented Mõlder, who will be racing for the win again this year with Georg Gross behind the wheel of Ford Fiesta.
The organisers of this years event are expecting at least 3000 spectators from both sides of the Estonian and Latvian border. The 16-th South-Estonian Rally starts on August 24 in Võru and ends on August 25-th.
