BC Kalev Cramo and AEGAON expressed their gratitude to Heiko Rannula for the pleasant cooperation, invaluable contribution, and unforgettable moments. Our best wishes were encapsulated in a distinguished wristwatch, which was presented by AEGAON co-founder Kristjan Rabi. Rannula is yet another example that no dream is too big to achieve in our small country of Estonia. After a long time, he will become an Estonian coach leading a foreign basketball club. By fulfilling his dream, he also opens the door for others.
During his time at BC Kalev Cramo, Heiko Rannula repeatedly demonstrated that even with a significantly smaller budget, it is possible to defeat major European clubs. His strategic decisions helped navigate difficult situations successfully, and he always believed in and trusted his players. Heiko has achieved all this thanks to a strong team behind him, starting with Indrek Reinbok, who will logically take over as head coach.
"My desire, ambition, and goal have always been to go abroad. In fact, I had already given up on this idea this season, but since the offer was good enough, I decided to accept it practically the next day (Sunday, February 16). It was undoubtedly a very difficult decision from both the players’ and my family’s perspective, but that’s the life of a coach—some challenges must be taken," said Heiko Rannula.
"I want to thank the Kalev/Cramo owners, the entire organization, and the fans. I have great memories from the last two years and will definitely stay in touch with Kalev/Cramo in the future," added Heiko Rannula.
Over the past three seasons, under Rannula’s leadership, Kalev/Cramo has won two Estonian championship titles, three Estonian Cups, reached the FIBA Europe Cup semifinals in the 22/23 season, and won the Estonian-Latvian League silver medals in the 23/24 season. His overall record as head coach over two and a half seasons is 160 official games, of which an impressive 131 were victories.
As of this season, BC Kalev Cramo is also sponsored by Estonia’s first watch manufacturer, AEGAON, whose products bring joy to both club players and fans attending the games.
