It took 12 years to offer something as functional as the new AEGAON “Temptation III” Automatic GMT Dive Watch, in addition to the design watches we’ve put out until now. The new model combines it all - experience, customer desires, and inspiration from a real-life hero Mr. Uku Randmaa.
Everything began 12 years ago with a design that set high expectations on us for the years to come. As a new and unknown Estonian manufacturer on the global stage, it quickly became clear where we stood in the market and price range. We needed to create something cool and distinctive within a reasonable price range. Over the years, experience, trust, and growing customer expectations led us to the next step. That step is the AEGAON “Temptation III” Automatic GMT Dive Watch LTD.
Technically and functionally, the “Temptation III” is undoubtedly the most capable watch AEGAON has ever made. It features a GMT hand for reading different time zones with 24-hour markers, a moving dive watch bezel not just for style but also with 20 ATM water resistance and a dive watch crown. Swiss lume provides visibility in the dark, and the scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating has become a quality mark for AEGAON. The strap is made of durable and easy-to-maintain nylon, padded with leather for wrist comfort. Long-time fans will likely notice right away that, for the first time the AEGAON watch crown is on the “correct” side, i.e., the right. Technically, this is better, but we stayed true to the principle that the crown should not cause discomfort on the back of the hand.
The movement is the heart of every watch. Until now, AEGAON had to choose movements based on three conditions: 1) What is available to us as a company not part of a large watch corporation, 2) Price, 3) Quality. We are extremely happy to now use the highly functional automatic Japanese movement from Seiko, which features the new diashock system sense 2022, offering significant shock protection. Customers increasingly want battery-free mechanical watches, but not everyone might initially appreciate the nuances of fine mechanics. Fortunately, the Seiko NH-34 automatic movement is perfect for adventurers, which is why we are so enthusiastic about it.
Behind every new AEGAON design is a story. The common thread has always been inspiration from genuine and characterful people with that indescribable X factor. Never before has this inspiration been as concrete as with the “Temptation III” model. Uku Randmaa completed the toughest around-the-world sailing race, the “Golden Globe Race,” accompanied by our “Tabula Rasa.” A conversation with Uku was so inspiring that already in 2019, the idea of a watch truly created to withstand such harsh conditions, and suitable in appearance for tough guys like Uku, was ignited. The name choice fell on his yacht “Temptation III,” which he sailed solo around the world in 2010 and brought him back in one piece. In our eyes, he is a true hero, embodying immense courage, enviable determination, zest for life, and a desire to become a better person through self-improvement, not at the expense of others.
The AEGAON “Temptation III” GMT Automatic Dive Watch is another limited series watch. A total of only 300 pieces will be produced in three colour combinations.
